Kirsten has had the opportunity to engage in her passion of dance for the last twenty-one years. She spent fifteen years dancing in a studio setting, and studied ballet/pointe, jazz, and lyrical. In high school, at Crystal Lake South, she was a four year member of both the Junior Varsity and Varsity dance teams. As a Varsity member she attended the statewide competition in Peoria, IL where her team took home the first place trophy in the Kick category two years in a row.
Following high school she attended Illinois State University. While at the university, she continued her dance career by taking ballet, jazz, modern, and dance improv courses. Also, she was a four year member and 2011 Co-captain of the Redline Express Dance Team. As a Redline Dancer, Kirsten had numerous dance experiences that she continues to carry with her as she moves forward and grows as a professional. Some include the opportunity to dance during the halftime of a Chicago Bears football game, perform at the Illinois High School Dance Team State Competition, and the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament. After graduating college Kirsten took some time to spend the next year in Orlando, Florida interning at Walt Disney World. There she was a merchandise hostess and participated in several auditions for character performer for some of their parades and stage shows.
Kirsten has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Currently she is a 7th Grade teacher’s assistant at Johnsburg Middle School. She also is in her second year teaching ballet, jazz, and Lyrical at the same place she learned from so many years ago.
